No one, not even the rain...
It's been raining in Boston. A lot. Today, though, it seemed really lovely. I'm not quite sure why.

found
I've been going through some old scans. I'm trying to post more art pictures as well as everyday "non-art" stuff. We'll see how it goes.
This image is from Westminster Abbey when I went on a trip with my mom to London. This was taken right before the guy in the funny robe told me I couldn't take pictures. I took some more later...
I like this because it makes me think of all the ghosts this building must hold. It's incredible.

Shepard is in Boston. He made a huge splash - what with getting arrested the night of his opening, the cop totally pulling an Ahab/Moby move. (i stole that reference from Erin, btw). Along with his HUGE show at the ICA, he's been doing the street art stuff too, which i am fascinated with. How does he do it without people seeing him and his team of 10? I've been taking some pictures of stuff i find around the city. I love this first one because it has others graffiti on top of the orginal. Talk about your layers of meaning. The part that really blows my mind is how someone has appropriated the style of the iconic Barak poster, which originally was an appropriated image that he's been doing battle over for the past couple of months, turned it into something else, and put it on TOP of the Shepard work. i think my head just exploded.
I've had some conversations about this work with fellow artists lately and I nevre thought about it but Shepard is to the printmaking/design world what Annie Leibowitz is to photography. And artists in those respective fields feel similarly toward them. it's very interesting.
