Amanda and Justin, July 2007

I have cute cousins. Maybe I could make a living off this portrait thing after all.

Dee da dee dee deee De da dee dee deee de dadeee

Found this posting today - why did i never put it up?

For those of you that couldn't decipher my typed humming, this title is the theme song to Jurassic Park. I thought Erin might get it. It goes with this picture:

Giant iguanas have taken over rt. 28 by the science museum! what next? the omni theater? Perhaps a duck boat?

And this was just pretty.

Mexico in Harvard Sq

For a few brief seconds I thought i was back in Oaxaca. If you have ever been there, you'll know what i mean. I love this door. Can you believe it is right in Harvard Square and i have never seen it before? Pretty.

just to watch him die

Is Peruvian a word?

machu picchu is an amazing place. you should go there sometime. get the avocado salad thing. so good i can't even remember what it's called...

Oh, and this.

Snow day? Never!

It snowed. A lot. School was canceled. And where was I? Not sledding down some hill in the 'ville with several other of my faculty colleagues. (yes. you read it right.) Not under a blanket on my couch. Nope, I had to go to my other job. The one that doesn't believe in snow days. So I decided to make the best of it and, well, document my journey to the South End of town.

I like how snow sticks to things like skinny branches and power lines.

Oh, and I know they are fuzzy, but those are birds sitting on a power line. In a snowstorm.

I probably shouldn't take pictures while I am driving. oh well.

Hawkeye Caucai

Did you know that Iowa is the Hawkeye state? I did. But i still don't really know what that is supposed to mean. Anyway, we had a caucus gathering. It was too low key to call it a party. Here are some pictures of us watching Democracy in Action. It's kind of like football. really. Just look at the look on Erin's face!

I really enjoy this sequence. She later threw the stuffed animal at the television. It was intense.

And then there was Mike. He was enthralled.

Rosa too.

In the end it was at least interesting to actually see how the caucus operates. Even if a minister named Huckabee who doesn't believe in evolution won on the republican side.

what is the plural of caucus, anyway?

view from...

The top of my beer glass. obviously.
Lizard Lounge, January 8.
Hey I'm getting pretty good at this blogging thing. Videos and everything.

I love Session Americana. And you should too.

I've been thinking about taking up video. I'd need a better camera though. And it won't shoot squares. Not that I have been posting many square pictures lately...

here are a couple more rectangular ones.

Those are the aforementioned beer glasses upon which i was balancing my camera.

floppy tulips....flopp-eeeee

The tulip that Henry gave me froze in my car overnight. I thought it was pretty neat. The first is the frozen tulip and the second is the thawed, aforementioned, floppy one. The name is from a Rose Polenzani and Session Americana song.
Oh gosh, i like those link things.

Just a few more from NYC

These are just some more pictures from NY.

I love the tree stands on sidewalks.

The doves are from the photoshoot. They belong to the magician Henry photographed. They didn't like the strobes, so they flew away.

An that's Kelli with the highfive. Notice the sweet canon digital camera strap. We talked cameras at the sushi shindig. Go see her photos. they are much better than mine.

Wow. I just learned how to make a nifty link. That was cool. I'm a little slow on this blogging thing.

Sushi in Manhattan.

I felt totally hip.
And now I like sushi.
And mike might keep me around for a while longer because of it.
Thanks Tucker.

for sharon/i decided to start updating again.

ok, so these are totally cheesy, but sometimes i just can't help myself. i'm a sucker for fireworks.

These are from July. Clearly.

I'm trying to catch up.

oh, man. Oh my gosh, this is the best thing ever. I didn't take this, obviously. But i wish i did.

i <3> ira glass and you should too.
